Animals in Distress is a small non-profit rescue located in Hamilton, NJ. We are often referred to locally as The Cat Cottage.
The Cat Cottage is a homey space with picture size windows and skylights where you can meet & greet with our adoptable cats outside of their cages. Our visitors are invited to interact with available pets, and encouraged to ask questions. Since our adoption room is small, we are scheduling visits by appointment only to ensure that each family has the full attention of our volunteers and is able to see every cat & kitten at their best.
To arrange a visit, please send a brief email telling us a little about your household and your reasons for looking to adopt, as well as your availability to meet & greet (weekdays, weeknights, or weekends) and we will get back to you with times available.

Adopting a CAT
There are currently millions of homeless cats in the United States. By adopting through a rescue, you save a life. You also gain a fantastic family member in the process. That’s a win-win in our book! Look through our available cats and contact us if you have any questions about a specific cat or the adoption process.
Making a Donation
By donating to AID, you are ensuring that we are able to continue our mission of saving the lives of cats in our community. All our funds are used for medical maintenance, food, and housing of our rescues. And by contributing to a 501(c)(3) non-profit, your donation can be claimed on your annual tax return.
